SDB pull the chair under Proton?

Read this morning in Paul Tan's blog that he's asking who is the conglomerate that will assemble VW. Well from what I hear SDB has already invested RM200 mil improving and enhancing its production line at Kulim to meet VW specs. And a team of VW engineers has visited the plant last month and has already given a thumb up. So pretty soon we'll see the Kulim plant churning VW as well as BMW. BMW you say? Yes.... BMW has also given the thumb up for Kulim to assemble it's latest 320i and target for the first car to come out is Mac 06. Next on the plate is their 5 series.

Well, from what I heard, talk btw VW and SDB has been going on for months. In fact, the relation btw the SDB people and the Germans has been smooth since SDB sold out its tyre manufacturing plant to Continental back in 2003. So, the German knows that SDB people are professional and there are no interference by the politician (PNB) in the running of its business. So we'll see whether all this rumours are true. Ciao.
